This book is about a 15 year old named Minnie. She lives with her mom and sister Gretel. Her mother's boyfriend sometime stays there too. His name is Monroe. Minnie is kinda a troubled child she drinks, smokes weed ,and gets into fights. On night Monroe ( the mother's boyfriend) starting touching her in inapproite places. Then those two starting going out on dates and developed a friends with benefits relationship behind Minnie's mom's back. Minnie loves doing things shes not suppose to do. She says she can't stop. This relationship is hard for her and Monroe a lot of the time.

Amy found out that her mom is going to have a baby with her stepdad, who she hates with all of her heart. When Amy tells her dad about it she feels like her dad is jealous. Amy then signs her dad up on an online Jewish dating service, without him knowing and also using his credit card without asking. There is this new guy in her bulid called Nathan who Amy doesn't get along with at all. He goes to her school and tries to fit in by starting a rumor about Amy being a barbie, also he says that SHE was the one who signed up for the online dating service because she couldn't find a date to the Valentine's dance.

I picked this book because it had a very colorful and interesting cover on it. I also love the title of it. It always seems us teenagers like to say our lifes are so horrible. I wanted to see if this story is really ruining this girls life, or if she's just a drama queen.

How to Ruin My Teenage Life, is about this girl named Amy who is Jewish and lives in downtown Chicago. Amy lives with her father, but her mother just got remarried to a guy Amy hates, and has just realized her mom is going to have a baby. Amy has a boyfriend who lives thousands miles away and who she can never talk to. The big thing in the story is the dog who's name is Mutt that Amy got over in Israel.
